Boeing Load Tool – The BLT

BLT is a program that will let an end-user extract, transform/map and load Boeing MPD and AMM information into the Maintenix System.

 

The Boeing Load Tool was developed for ITS to implement the B737NG MPD Task baseline into Maintenix.

The BLT gives the user a simplified overview of the MPD and creates Reference Documents (Ref Docs), Requirements (REQ) and Job Instruction Cards (JIC) automatically in Maintenix.

 

How it works:

The Boeing MPD in XML format and all associated Task Cards in SGML/XML format are loaded into the BLT and mapped by MPD item number. The Tool will then identify any MPD item that requires user input. This could be intervals not defined in the MPD such as Vendor recommended intervals or applicability that is determined by SB status of the aircraft.

The software is designed to create one Ref Doc, one REQ and any related JIC for each MPD item. (Future features will allow multiple REQs). It then links the REQ to the Ref Doc and assigns all JICs to the REQ.

By default the Tool will set the MPD applicability and intervals to both the Ref Docs and the REQs. The user can change these settings manually as well as ATA, Name, Code and other predefined fields.

The BLT can also load both static and dynamic Technical References.

After review and updates by the user the BLT can make a trial-load into a demo environment before loading the data into a production environment. The data will be loaded in Build status and can be updated by the BLT until activated.

Future features of the BLT are loading MPD revision highlights with the ability to revise active data in Maintenix including JICs which is currently not part of the standard MX loading package.
